Artemisia 'Silvermound' (Artemisia schmidtiana) Grows 8-12" tall. Forms dome of woolly finely cut leaves. Excellent in mixed flower borders, as an accent plant, or in rock garden. Shear flowers to keep plant looking its best, and cut back hard in late spring. Plant in full sun. Perennial.

Basil 'Sweet Petra Dark Red' (Ocimum basicilicum) Darkest purple basil adds great contrast interplanted with green basils. Mild-flavored leaves can be used as garnish, in cooking. Grows 24" tall.  Grow in a warm protected location. Annual.

Catmint 'Six Hills Giant' (Nepeta x faassenii) Spikes of lavender-blue flowers with darker purple spots bloom summer to fall. Clump-forming plants grow 18" tall. Full sun or part shade. Perennial.

Catmint ‘Walker’s Low’ (Nepeta x faassenii)

CATNIP (Nepeta cataria) Upright plants with lavender flowers in early summer. Use for tea or essential oil. Cats like it, too! Grows 30-36" tall. Grow in full sun to light shade. Perennial.

CHAMOMILE German (Matricaria recutita) Grows 24-30" tall. Feathery foliage is fragrant with overtones of pineapple. Daisy-like flower heads can be dried for soothing, sedative tea. Reseeds. Plant in full sun. Annual.

CHIVES Garlic (Allium tuberosum) Grows 18" tall. Dryable white flowers. Broad flat leaves. Yummy garlic taste. Very hardy - comes back after winter. Full sun. Perennial.

Chives Grass (medium) (Allium schoenoprasum) Grows 14" tall. Purple flowers are dryable or can be used fresh to color and flavor vinegars. Medium coarse foliage. Attractive in borders or as an edging plant. Perennial.

CILANTRO 'Calypso' (Coriandrum sativum) Full, bushy plants are very slow to bolt. Tender, flavorful leaves can be snipped as needed for Mexican & Asian cooking. Plant in full sun with moist well-drained soil. Annual.

Cilantro 'Slow Bolting' (Coriandrum sativum) Also called Chinese parsley. Grows 12-15" tall. Used in many Chinese and Mexican recipes. Seeds are called coriander & are used in baked goods and curries. Allow to reseed, or replant often. Grow in well drained soil and full sun. Annual.

CUMIN (Cuminum cyminum) Fragrant dill-like foliage can be snipped & added to salads, or let seeds mature to add warm, mildly spicy, sweet flavor to curries, chilis. Grows 6-12" tall. Plant in a sunny, sheltered area.  Annual.

CURRY Plant (Helichrysum angustifolium) Grows 14" tall. Ornamental plant with silvery leaves and strong curry scent. Good in mixed container or borders or can be trained as topiary. Dry the yellow flowers for arrangements. Oil used to enhance fruit flavors in confections & perfumes. Plant in full sun and warm, well drained site. Tender perennial herb.

Dill for Weed 'Superdukat' (Anethum graveolens) Grows 24" tall. Tetratriploid hybrid has exceptionally bushy leafy habit. Late blooming, vigorous and slow to bolt. Use fresh or dried. Full sun. Annual.

Dill for Weed 'Hera' (Anethum graveolens) Slow bolting plants with fernlike blue-green foliage excellent for flavoring vegetables, eggs, fish, salads, and pickles. Sturdy, upright plants grow 16-18" tall. Annual.

EPAZOTE (Dysphania ambrosioides) Also called Hierba Santa Maria, the pungent leaves are added to Mexican bean dishes to impart a fuller flavor and prevent gas. Young leaves have the best rich yet mild flavor. Grows 2-4 feet tall. Annual.

FENNEL 'Bronze' (Foeniculum vulgare) Grows up to 5 feet tall. Stunning bronzy, feathery foliage with blue-green stems. Use as an ornamental accent. Leaf tips used as garnish. Seeds and leaves are licorice flavored. Self sows. Full sun.

Fennel 'Florence' (Foeniculum vulgare) Grows up to 5 feet tall. Attractive lacy blue-green foliage.  Seeds and leaves are licorice flavored. Use chopped leaves and bulbous base in soups or salads. Self sows. Full sun.

FENUGREEK (Trigonella foenum-graecum) Soft, three-lobed leaves can be used young in salads, soups. Dried seed can be lightly toasted and ground for use in curry powders. Plants grow 2-3' tall, need full sun. Annual.

GERMANDER 'Summer Sunshine' (Teucrium chamaedrys) Pink blooms appear in spikes mid-to-late summer. Full sun to part shade. Grows 6-8" tall. Bright golden foliage on compact, medicinal and ornamental, shrub-like plant.

Germander Trailing (Teucrium canadense) Attractive, aromatic, semi-evergreen groundcover with bright purple flowers grows to 6" tall. Sun to part shade. Great for the rock garden. Perennial.

Germander Upright (Teucrium chamaedrys) A showy plant for low edging and a lovely miniature hedge for a knot garden. Rose-colored flowers appear in midsummer and last throughout fall. It prunes very successfully for bonsai subjects, and it is also effective on steep banks because of its creeping roots.

HYSSOP 'Blue' (Hyssopus officinalis) Blue flowers bloom on trim, attractive, hedge-like plants.  Grows 18-36" tall. Plant near cabbage to repel cabbage butterfly. Bee plant. Perennial.

Oregano Greek (Origanum vulgare ssp. hirtum) This is the true oregano collected wild in the mountains of Greece. White flowers; very hardy. Also wonderful in beef or lamb stew, gravies, soups, salads or casseroles. Perennial.

Oregano'Greek Kaliteri' (Origanum vulgare ssp. hirtum) Grows 18" tall. A superb seasoning due to its high oil content. Commercially grown in Greece for the gourmet oregano market; its name means "the best" in Greek. Spicy, silvery gray foliage. Full sun and well-drained soil. Perennial.

Savory 'Winter Dwarf' (Satureja montana) Grows 6-18" tall. Lilac flowers appear in late summer on a shrubby evergreen, good for borders and hedges. Smaller and more compact than summer savory, with thick evergreen leaves that add a peppery flavor to beans and other vegetables. Perennial. 

SORREL 'Blonde de Lyon' (Rumex acetosa) French variety. Use the large, succulent, lemon-flavored leaves in soup, salad, herb butter. Remove flowers to keep leaves tender. Perennial.

STEVIA rebaudiana Sweet Herb of Paraguay  Incredibly sweet leaves can be used like sugar. Grows 3' high x 3' wide. Pick off white flowers, then use the leaves fresh, dried, frozen or powdered. One teaspoon dried leaves is the equivalent of one cup of sugar. Tender perennial.

TARRAGON French (Artemisia dracunculus sativa) Delicate, narrow leaves have a strong anise flavor. Try sprigs in vinegar. Half-hardy perennial dies to the ground in winter, so mark the site before the plant loses its leaves. Plant in well-drained light soil and full sun. Tender perennial.

THYME 'Archer's Gold' (Thymus sp.) Grows 3" tall. Ornamental dwarf groundcover with golden yellow foliage and white flowers in early spring. Mat forming plants are perfect for use between stepping stones. Perennial.
